1950 Indianapolis Olympians vs Waterloo Hawks & Chicago Stags vs. Blackhawks basketball program

We offer this BAA NBA program played in Chicago that was a double header. This was from the 1949-50 season and played on January 19, 1950.

Indianapolis Olympians 104 vs Waterloo Hakws 87.  The Olympians made up primarily of former Kentucky basketball players (many who played in the 1948 Olympics) were led by Alex Groza who was on his way to the Basketball HOF if not for his banishment after the following season with 30 points, Bruce Hale had 23, Joe Holland – 12, Wah Wah Jones – 11, and Ralph Beard (another player banned for life by the NBA) with 9.  On a side note, fellow NBA cast-off, Cliff Barker shot for 4.  Waterloo tried, but lost with Dick Mehen shooting 18, Leo Kubiak 14, John Payak with 13, and Jack Smiley 11.

Chicago Stags 83 vs. Tri-Cities Blackhawks 68.  Maax Zaslofsky led Chicago with 30 points while Odie Spears was the second leading scorer with 14.  The Blackhawks couldn’t keep up with Mike Todorovich hitting 16 points in this losing effort to the home team.

This was the last year of the BAA before merging into the NBA.

This program has been lovingly scored, tight binding, with score page slightly loose, no missing pages, filled with stats, articles, and a few photos.  Overall in nice shape with the date written on the cover.
