Apollo 12 Lunar Module Pilot Alan Bean adjusts the portable life support system for Charles "Pete" Conrad, Jr., Apollo 12 Commander during a rehearsal of their lunar surface activities.  The rehearsal was conducted in the flight crew training facility at KSC where the astronauts practiced picking up rocks and using the tools they will work with on the lunar surface.  Apollo 12 is scheduled for launch from Kennedy Space Center on Nov. 14, 1969 with the lunar landing planned for Nov. 19.

 

Apollo 12 was the sixth crewed flight in the United States Apollo program and the second to land on the Moon. It was launched on November 14, 1969, from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
