Charlie Hurth(D) was the very first GM on the NY Mets and was replaced by George Weiss. He is a historic figure in NY Mets history. He was considered the protégé to Hall of Famer, Branch Rickey.
Offered is an 8.5” x 11” tipped letter signed in steel tipped pen on (Baseball Centennial insignia) New Orleans Pelicans baseball letterhead from 1940, written to Carden Gillenwater, who would lay for the Cardinals, Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Braves, and Washington Senators. Neat piece of baseball history.
