Heisman Trophy Winner Frank Sinkwich Georgia Football Star at 1941 Orange Bowl Original TYPE 1 photo

Frank Sinkwich (D. 1990) was an American football player and coach. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1942 playing for the University of Georgia, making him the first recipient from the Southeastern Conference. In the course of a brief but celebrated career in professional football, Sinkwich was selected for the National Football League Most Valuable Player Award. During his NFL/AAFC career, he played for the Detroit Lions, New York Yankees, and Baltimore Colts (1943-47). His injuries that he incurred during military duty hampered his playing career. Sinkwich was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1954.
