On July 26, 1948 Babe Ruth makes his final public appearance at the New York premiere of The Babe Ruth Story. He will die of throat cancer three weeks later. In this photo you can see a very sickly Babe Ruth with actress Claire Trevor (who played Mrs. Ruth in the Babe Ruth Story), and his male nurse who took care of him in the last year of his life, Frank Dulaney.
