Kansas City Steers GM – Mike Cleary with John Windsor in 1962 Original Photo ABL Basketball
Mike Cleary was the first person ever fired by George Steinbrenner. Cleary was the GM of the ABL’s, Cleveland Pipers. He was responsible for hiring, John McLendon; the first African American head coach in professional basketball. After being fired by Cleveland, Cleary took over the Kansas City Steers.
Offered is an Original 6” x 8.5” photo of Cleary (stamped on back September 16, 1962) in front of the very cool/ornate Kansas City Steers logo office door. He is show with John Windsor, out of Stanford, who signed a contract for the 1962-63 season. Windsor would go on to play with the San Francisco Warriors.
