On May 25, 1949 the St. Louis Cardinals beat the visiting Boston Braves in Sportsman’s Park 3-0 for the first Cardinals shutout of the year (Howie Polle the winning pitcher) over future Hall of Famer, Warren Spahn in front of 6356 fans.
It was a low hit game, but Bob Elliott provided the power for the Braves in a futile effort going 2 for 4 with one double.
Stan Musial went 1 for 4 and Red Schoendienst went 2 for 4. Both Hall of Fame ballplayers scored runs.
Low attended game with four future Hall of Famers in the game that day (including Enos Slaughter).
