Roderick J. Bobby Wallace Signed AUTO Photo Baseball HOF D.1960 PSA/DNA

Bobby Wallace-(D. 1960) began his career as a pitcher and ended it 60 years later as a scout. In 1899, while with the Cardinals, Wallace moved to shortstop, where he fielded well and hit 20 or more doubles 12 times. In 1902, Mr. Shortstop jumped to the St. Louis Browns. Overall, he led the American League in assists twice and fielding percentage three times, and in 1902, set the league record for most chances in one game (17). Following his playing days, he also managed, coached and umpired.

Offered is a very rare signed newspaper photo taken of Wallace in the 1930’s - 40’s that has been mounted to a heavy piece of black construction paper. We believe derives from the Ambrose Edens collection signed in the 1940’s in steel tipped pen.  Photo measures approximately 3” x 5” in size.
