1929 WORLD SERIES PROGRAM – Game 2 in Chicago Jimmie Foxx Monster Game A’s vs. Cubs

Game 2 of the 1929 World Series was played on October 9, 1929, at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

The Philadelphia Athletics defeated the Cubs 9-3 in this game. Jimmie Foxx hit a three-run home run to help power the Athletics' offense (becoming the first player to homer in his first two World Series games), and George Earnshaw pitched a complete game for the victory, allowing 8 hits while the A's offense pounded Cubs starter Pat Malone.

Al Simmons also contributed significantly to Philadelphia's attack (hitting a Home Run). The 9-3 victory gave the Athletics a 2-0 series lead before the Series shifted to Shibe Park in Philadelphia for Game 3.

The Athletics would go on to win the Series 4-1, with Connie Mack's team dominating the Cubs and capturing Philadelphia's first championship since 1913.

Offered is an original program from Game 2 that we’d consider in EX condition.  Neatly scored in pencil. Historic survivor from this classic Series.
