Robin Roberts (1926-2010) was a dominant right-handed pitcher who starred for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1948-1961. He won 286 career games and was a seven-time All-Star. Roberts led the "Whiz Kids" to the 1950 NL pennant and won 20+ games six consecutive seasons (1950-1955). Known for exceptional control and durability, he led the National League in wins four times and complete games five times. A workhorse who rarely walked batters, Roberts was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1976.
