1954 New York Yankees vs Philadelphia Athletics Opening Day Full Ticket - Bauer HR

A crowd of 23,494 fans showed up on a chilly day (April 15, 1954) to see the 1953 World Championship, New York Yankees open Yankee Stadium and beat their guests; the Philadelphia Athletics by a score of 3-0.  Tom Morgan, on leave from the military got his first win of the season, while Philly pitcher, Alex Kellner took his first loss.

Hank Bauer of the Yankees had the only Home Run of the day, while Yogi Berra contributed with one hit.  Mickey Mantle was 0 for 4, but not to fret; he would end up with 163 hits for the year, batting .300, and hitting 27 Home Runs.
