The San Francisco Seals were a beloved minor league baseball team that played in the Pacific Coast League from 1903 to 1957. Named after the bay's sea lions and seals, they were San Francisco's top team before the Giants arrived. Playing at Recreation Park and later Seals Stadium, they won multiple PCL championships and became legendary for producing major league talent including Joe DiMaggio, who played there before his Yankees career. The team featured outstanding squads in 1909, 1922, 1925, and 1928. When the Giants moved west in 1958, the Seals relocated to Phoenix, ending an era of San Francisco baseball history.
