1973 ALCS Oakland A’s Baltimore Orioles Playoff Ticket Stubs Games 3 – 4 – 5 Lot

The Oakland Athletics defeated the Baltimore Orioles 3-2 in a hard-fought series to advance to their second consecutive World Series. The defending champion A's split the first two games in Baltimore before returning home to the Oakland Coliseum. The series featured outstanding pitching from both staffs, including Catfish Hunter and Vida Blue for Oakland and Jim Palmer for Baltimore. The Athletics' colorful roster, featuring Reggie Jackson, Sal Bando, and Bert Campaneris, showcased the team chemistry that defined their dynasty years. Manager Dick Williams guided Oakland past Earl Weaver's Orioles in a series that went the distance, with both teams trading victories until Oakland clinched in Game 5.

Game 3 Oakland won 2-1 at the Coliseum behind Catfish Hunter's excellent pitching. Hunter went the distance, holding Baltimore's potent lineup in check. The A's scored their runs on clutch hitting in the middle innings. Baltimore managed only one run despite Jim Palmer's strong performance on the mound.

Game 4 Baltimore evened the series with a 5-4 victory in Oakland. The Orioles jumped ahead early and held on despite a late Oakland rally. Baltimore's offense finally broke through against the A's pitching staff. The win forced a decisive Game 5 and kept the Orioles' championship hopes alive.

Game 5 Oakland clinched the pennant with a 3-0 shutout victory. Catfish Hunter again dominated, pitching a complete game with outstanding control. Reggie Jackson provided key offensive support. The A's defense was flawless behind Hunter. Oakland advanced to face the New York Mets in the World Series.
