Cal Hubbard Signed GPC Green Bay Packers Baseball & Pro Football HOF

Cal Hubbard (D. 1977) as a professional American football player and Major League Baseball (MLB) umpire. After playing football at Centenary College and Geneva College, Hubbard played in the National Football League (NFL) between 1927 and 1936 for the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Pirates, playing the bulk of his career with the Packers. Hubbard is credited as being one of the inventors of the football position of linebacker.  He is the only dual member of the Baseball Hall of Fame (Cooperstown) and Pro Football Hall of Fame (Canton).

Offered is a government postcard dated June 7, 1945 from Cleveland, Ohio.  The Tigers played the Indians in front of 2500 fans in Cleveland.  We suspect that Hubbard was behind the plate.  This may be one of the best autographed items that we’ve ever seen of Hubbard from the infamous John Davis Collection. He signed his name in black steel tipped ink and also wrote out All Pro Tackle 1929-30-31-32-33.
