On July 24, 1951, The Cubs played the Brooklyn Dodgers at Wrigley Field in front of 22,264 fans in a 6-3 loss. Clyde King of Brooklyn got the win to bring his record to 9-4, while Paul Minner took the L to bring his record on the season to 4-10.

Roy Campanella and Gil Hodges spoiled Phil Cavarretta’s home debut as the Cubs new manager (he replaced Frankie Frisch) by hitting two Home Runs.  Campy hit #78 of his career, while Hodges hit his 96th career Homer. Jackie Robinson was walked, but scored once he got on base.
