The 1932 Boilermakers finished with a 7-0-1 record and #4 in the final polls. This GPC is signed by twelve members of the team postmarked from Lafayette in December of that year. Highlights include:

Dutch Fehring (D. 2006) played in one major league baseball game for the Chicago White Sox. He would become an asst football coach at Purdue, OK, UCLA, and Stanford. He played basketball at Purdue and was John Wooden’s roommate on the road. He became a legendary baseball coach at Stanford.

Roy Horstmann (D. 1998) would play in the NFL for the Boston Redskins and Chicago Cardinals.

Clarence Janny Janecek (D. 1990) played for the 1933 Pittsburgh Pirates (Steelers).

John Bud Letsinger (D. 2002) played for the 1933 Pittsburgh Pirates (Steelers).

John Doxie Moore (D. 1986) was an American basketball player and coach. He attended Delphi High School in Delphi, Indiana, and played college basketball at Purdue University from 1930 to 1934, playing alongside John Wooden as Purdue laid claim to the 1932 Helms Athletic Foundation National Championship. He coached several professional basketball teams, including the Sheboygan Red Skins, the Anderson Packers and the Milwaukee Hawks in the 1940s and 50s. He also happened to be a member of the football team.

Paul Moss (D. 1999) - played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (Steelers) and the St. Louis Gunners in the NFL.

John Oehler (D. 1983) would go on to play in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Pirates (Steelers) and the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1933-36. He scored the first points in Steelers franchise history (a safety).

Paul Pardonner (D. 1989) - member of the 1934-35 Chicago Cardinals of the NFL.

Duane Purvis (D. 1989) - 2x All American and a world class javelin thrower. He played in the 1935 East-West Shrine game.

The 1929 Purdue Boilermakers had a perfect 8-0 record and the first ever Big Ten Title. The team coached by Jimmy Phelan in his last year at the school finished #2 in the country behind Notre Dame. Offered is a GPC postmarked from December 1929 signed by 3 stars on the team. Includes:

Ebb Caraway (D. 1975) went on to become a baseball and football coach on the collegiate level.

Elmer Red Sleight (D. 1978) - All American in 1929 at Purdue and played for the Green Bay Packers in 1930 and 1931.

Ralph Pest Welch (D. 1974) - head coach at the U of Washington from 1942-47. Followed head coach Jimmy Phelan to Washington as an assistant upon graduation from Purdue.
