The 1949 New York Yankees season was their fourth and final in the All-America Football Conference. The team improved on their previous output of 6-8, winning eight games. They lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the playoffs and the team folded with the league after the season.

Original 1949 AAFC professional FOOTBALL team photograph of the New York Yankees’ football team coaching staff! The photograph shows head coach Red Strader sitting with his three assistant coaches: Norman “Red” Strader is second from the left and to the right is Mel Hein to the right of Hein is Coach Jack White. The fourth coach to the far left, we haven’t been able to identify. The four men appear to be sitting on the dugout fence of Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. This is a terrific publicity photograph shows the men wearing “YANKEES” sweatshirts and pants. The back of the photograph is stamped “official photo – N. Y. Yankees” with the photographer’s information also stamped nearby.

The photo measures 10x8 inches. Fantastic historic and rare shot from the waning days of the AAFC
