Albersheim's 2015 June Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/7/2015
"Who can forget the Bill Buckner ball through his legs incident during the World Series; it was perhaps the most famous boneheaded play since Merkle’s Boner in the 1908 World Series. The ’86 Sox made their first appearance in the World Series since 1975. The ’86 season would be Roger Clemens first appearance in the World Series. During that season he became the first pitcher in history to strike out 20 batters in a 9 inning Major League game against the Seattle Mariners. He would also record his single season career win total going 24-4 during the regular season.
Offered is a gorgeous salesman's sample representation of Roger Clemens' 1986 A.L. Champion Boston Red Sox ring.
- 15 CZs form a shimmering ""B"" atop red stone, and surrounding this brilliant arrangement is raised lettering reading, "AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPION."
- One shank displays a detailed Fenway Park motif, along with the "RED SOX-4 1986 ANGLES-3."
- On the opposing shank it says, "CLEMENS" and "21" flank the Red Sox logo.
- Inside the band are the manufacturer’s markings LGB 10K and the ring's identification characters of ""8SA-9967.”
- This ring is NR MT – MT and appears untouched from the day it was manufactured.
- The ring weighs 34.7 grams (1.23 ounces) on this size 11.75 – 12 ring.
This is the same exact ring the players received. Gorgeous!"
