1ST Year NBA New York Knicks vs. Chicago Stags January 22, 1947 Basketball program

On January 22, 1947 the New York Knicks beat the visiting Chicago Stags 74-64 in front of a sparsely attended   69th Regiment Armory  in front of 2,518 spectators.  Knicks star, Tommy Burnes led the Knicks with 22 points, while Ozzie Schechtman (the man who scored the first points in NBA history) put up 17, and Sonny Hertzberg had 15.  The Stags were led by Jim Seminoff with 11, Carlson with 12, and Max Zaslofsky 9, Chick Halbert 9, Mickey Rottner 9 in a losing effort.
