Albersheim's 2015 January Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 1/24/2015
Super Bowl XXX was played on January 28, 1996 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ. At the time, it broke the record for the most watched sporting event ever on American television and the second most watched program of all time, trailing only to the series finale of M*A*S*H.
This was the third and last Super Bowl Championship of the 1990s Dallas Cowboys dynasty. Barry Switzer would coach the team to a 27-17 win over the AFC’s Pittsburgh Steelers. The Offensive Line was anchored by Right Tackle, Erik Williams.
Here we have the jersey he actually wore in this monumental game. This white mesh jersey features his name plate E. Williams sewn on the back. Several marks show that Williams really worked the trenches that day, as this jersey has been pounded. The number “79” is screened on the front and back of the jersey. His number 79 is also featured on both shoulders. An NFL logo patch is sewn by the neckline.
The tagging has been ripped out or removed as Erik customized this jersey to his own specs. It matches Getty image 202913 to a T.
Super Bowl jerseys with this type of provenance, match ability, and from such a marquee player rarely come onto the market. This could be your only chance! All we have to say is, “WOW!!!”
