Howie Dallmar 1946-1949 Philadelphia Warriors BAA Game-Worn Home Jersey
A mainstay in the BAA (Basketball Association of America), 6-foot-4 forward, Dallmar played collegiately at Stanford University. He led Stanford to the 1942 NCAA Championship, earning Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors. Howie Dallmar was the Philadelphia Warriors’ third-leading scorer, as he helped power that club to the league’s inaugural championship in the 1946-47 campaign. He was so good that he was named to the 1948 All-BAA team. During his three-season tenure (which coincided with the BAA’s run prior to becoming the NBA), Dallmar wore this Philadelphia Warriors home jersey. An absolutely gorgeous hardwood relic, the cream-colored dureen pullover garment features “PHILA” arched across the chest in red-on-blue felt and “12” sewn to the front and back in like fashion. Red-and-yellow striped stretch ribbed cotton lines the collar and arm yokes, and the interior of the vented left rear tail is home to a partially detached “Pearson” local manufacturer’s label. Just below, a stitched outline remains from a since-removed tag. All original and unaltered, this vintage hardwood apparel shows solid game wear and has been incredibly preserved. The felt identifiers still show vibrant hues and are free of pilling/separation commonly found on jerseys from this era. The item hails from the personal collection of Philadelphia hoops fixture Harvey Pollack, who obtained it from former Warriors owner Eddie Gottlieb when he sold the club to a San Francisco group in 1962. LOA from Pollack, the lone NBA employee who has been there since the league’s inception. NOT FOR SALE
