The Beatles Arrive in L.A. on April 18, 1964 Wide World AP wire photo

The Beatles would arrive in America on February 7, 1964.  Two days later they would make their American debut on the Ed Sullivan show.  They would play a few more gigs in the states in February and then go on their UK tour in April and May.  On August 18, 1964, the Fab Four would arrive back in America for their longest U.S. Tour.

This AP wire photo (measuring 9” x 7” in size) features these mop top lads on April 18th at LAX.  Thousands of girls would be screaming for their reemergence. This Wide World Photos  (stamped on back) was used in February 1981 for a Who’s Who in Movie & TV issue.  Based on stamping on the back of the photo, this photo’s printing dates to the 1960’s and possibly as late as the early 1970’s.

Regardless, this is a fantastic photo of the Beatles arriving back in America during the height of Beatlemania!!!
