In this very unique unpublished 8x10 photograph we see the Three Mantle brothers who played professional baseball. Twins, Roy is on the left and Ray on the Right. The Mick is in the middle. Both of the younger brothers are wearing Yankees road uniforms. The twins were 5 years younger than Mickey and signed with their big brother’s team in 1954 after starring for their high school team in Commerce, Oklahoma. Ray played in the minors from 1954-55 and Roy, 1954-56. He even made the 1955 All Star team for the Monroe Sports. Neither of them progressed further up past the low minor league level, but people always wondered what could have been.
This TYPE 1 photo shows the brothers in happier times in 1956, most likely wearing their big brother, Mickey’s road unis.
