1934 GROUP of SEVEN Arrested for Aiding JOHN DILLINGER Original Press Photo

This photo is dated September 1, 1934. This image shows six of the seven persons arrested and charged with having aided the late John Dillinger. They are - Arthur O'Leary (a private eye who worked for Dillinger’s lawyer – they found a wooden gun from Dillinger in his apartment upon his death), Dr Harold Bernard Cassidy (the plastic surgeon who performed a facelift on Dillinger), Ella and William Finerty (whose home was used to perform the plastic surgery on Dillinger) and Marie Comforti, the last named said to have been the sweetheart of the late Homer Van Meter (who was shot and killed in St. Paul, MN when he was confronted by 4 police officers on August 23, 1934).  Van Meter was a part of the Dillinger Gang as well as an associate of Baby Face Nelson.
