We offer an original BAA basketball program from January 20, 1949 )1948-49 season. The Philadelphia Warriors would beat the Chicago Stags in Philly by a score of 92-72. This was the Warriors 3rd season (in what is now known as the modern day NBA). The Stags finished 3rd, 38–22, seven games behind division-winning Rochester Royals. The playoffs were expanded from 6 to 8 teams, and the Stags played the Lakers. They lost again to the eventual champions, the Lakers, 2–0. This was their 3rd season before folding after the next season.
The Warriors Featured Joe Fulks (38 points), Angelo Musi (14), Big Ed Sadowski (14), Chink Crossin (6 points), George Senesky (5 Points), and Jerry Fleishman (2 points).
The Chicago Stags featured – Max Zaslofsky (24 Points), Eddie Mikan *17 points), Stan Miasek (10 points), Kenny Rollins (8 points), Odie Spears (1 point), Joe Graboski (2 points), and Whitey Kachan (2 points).
This program is filled with articles and tons of photos. All pages intact and it’s in EX plus condition. Pictured on the cover are the Warriors playing the Pistons. Warriors players - #8 George Senesky and #14 Big Ed Sadowski are shown. #20 – Bob Tough and #32 Bob Kinney of the Pistons are shown. Program has been scored neatly.
