Cliff Hagan, a Basketball Hall of Famer, was a versatile forward known for his unique hook shot and tenacious play. Born on December 9, 1931, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Hagan starred at the University of Kentucky, leading the Wildcats to the 1951 NCAA championship. Drafted by the Boston Celtics in 1953, he was traded to the St. Louis Hawks, where he became a five-time NBA All-Star and helped the team win the 1958 NBA Championship. Hagan later excelled in the ABA as a player-coach. Renowned for his scoring and rebounding prowess, he left an indelible mark on professional basketball.
Offered is an original University of Kentucky Basketball Stars 1950 postcard that was distributed by E.C. Kropp Co. – Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The back of the postcard has been signed by Hagan (first name only) and a short note. Super rare postcard (we’ve only seen one other example of this postcard). The collector typed out Lexington, Kentucky, University Station April 4, 1952.
