Offered is an original 1960’s TYPE 1 photo measuring 8x10 in size of Jerry West running down the court by the side of teammate, Rudy LaRusso in a game against the St. Louis Hawks. Cliff Hagan and Bob Pettit are doing their best to defend, but it appears to be a no go, at least in this frame.
Crystal clear shot where 3 out of the 4 players are now in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. Stamped on back by L.A. based photographer, David Sutton.
Sutton was a well acclaimed photographer who was active from WW II (active combat photographer) through the 1970s. When he returned to the States after the war, he had a brief stint at Life Magazine before moving to the West Coast where he worked as a top Hollywood photographer, shooting stars such as Paul Newsman, John Wayne, and Frank Sinatra. He also covered his favorite basketball team, the Los Angeles Lakers.
