Jimmy Patton (D. 1972 at age 39) was a standout defensive back in the NFL, playing his entire career with the New York Giants (1955–1966). Known for his exceptional speed and instincts, he was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and five-time First-Team All-Pro (1958–1962). Patton led the NFL in interceptions in 1958 and finished his career with 52 interceptions, ranking among the league's best. He was part of the Giants' 1956 NFL Championship team and earned a place in the New York Giants Ring of Honor. Patton's legacy endures as one of the greatest defensive backs in NFL history. Allie Sherman (D. 2015) was an American football player, coach, and media personality. Born in Brooklyn, he played as a quarterback and defensive back in the NFL before transitioning to coaching. Sherman served as head coach of the New York Giants from 1961 to 1968, leading the team to three consecutive NFL championship games (1961–1963) and earning NFL Coach of the Year honors in 1961 and 1962.
Ken Kavanaugh (d 2007) was a standout American football player, coach, and scout. Playing as an end for the Chicago Bears (1940–1950, excluding WWII service), he led the NFL in receiving touchdowns twice and remains the Bears' all-time leader in that category with 50. A two-time First-Team All-Pro, Kavanaugh was part of three NFL championship teams and was named to the NFL 1940s All-Decade Team. At LSU, he earned All-American honors in 1939 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1963. He was an asst. coach with the NY Giants from 1955-70.
Ed Kolman (D. 1985) was an American football player and coach. He played as an offensive tackle in the NFL for the Chicago Bears (1940–1942, 1946–1947) and the New York Giants (1949), winning three NFL championships with the Bears. Kolman was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and known for his strength and consistency on the field. After retiring as a player, he transitioned to coaching, serving as the offensive line coach for the New York Giants from 1950 to 1965.
Harry Wright (D. 1993) was an accomplished American football player and coach. He played as a quarterback for the University of Notre Dame, leading the 1941 Fighting Irish to an undefeated season. Wright went on to serve as head coach at the University of Portland in 1949 and the United States Merchant Marine Academy from 1958 to 1963, achieving a combined coaching record of 35–28–1. From 1964 to 1966, he contributed as an assistant coach for the New York Giants in the NFL, working under head coach Allie Sherman.
