We offer an official American League baseball signed by 27 members of the 1970 Minnesota Twins. The signatures rate between 8-10’s in quality. Highlights include: Harmon Killebrew, Tony Oliva, Bert Blyleven, Bill Rigney (clubhouse), Jim Kaat, Jim Perry, Cesar Tovar, Danny Thompson as a rookie who would die of cancer at the age of 29 in 1976.

The key signature on this ball (that is if you collect some of the rarest of all 60’s Debut players) would be that of:

Herman Hill (D. 1970 at age 25) was as an American professional baseball player who appeared in 43 Major League games for the 1969–1970 Minnesota Twins. Hill's life and baseball career were prematurely ended when he accidentally drowned in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Venezuela during the 1970 winter baseball season. After being traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in October 1970, Hill played winter baseball in Venezuela. He drowned while swimming near Valencia at age 25. It is believed he is the only major league baseball player killed by a shark. Hill played 112 of his games in the minors in 1970. He only played in 27 games in Minnesota during the 1970 season, so in addition to finding his signature nearly impossible to find; finding him on a 1970 Twins ball is like winning the lottery.

The 1970 Twins finished first in the AL West with a 98-64 record. They lost in the AL Championship series to the mighty Baltimore Orioles who would go on to win the World Series.

Letter of Authenticity from Richard Albersheim.
