Bernard King was feared for his offensive game. The Brooklyn-born baller loved the spotlight and when he returned home to his native New York in 1982 to play for his beloved Knicks, Madison Square Garden served as witness to one of the most prolific scoring runs in league history. Despite battling injuries, the small forward led the NBA in scoring his third season in New York and was named to the All-NBA First Team for the second consecutive year. During the 1984 Playoffs, King averaged 34.8 points per game for the Knicks before losing to the eventual champion Boston Celtics in seven games. The four-time All Star, and First Team Associated Press All-America at the University of Tennessee, began his professional career as the seventh overall pick in the 1977 NBA Draft. King was named to the 1978 NBA All-Rookie team after averaging 24.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. After a short stint with the Utah Jazz, King went to the Golden State Warriors where he won the 1981 NBA Comeback Player of the Year. He was enshrined into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013.

On the inside back collar is the "Gerry Cosby" distributors tag. Across the front is "NEW YORK" in orange on white tackle twill. Below that and on the back is the player number "30" in orange on white tackle twill. Across the back is "KING” in white tackle twill and below that is the player number "30" in orange on white tackle twill.
This jersey displays little if no wear. However, there is soiling in the armpit region, so it is possible that King wore it. This could be a game issued garment but can’t be definitively sold as a gamer. However, it’s possible that King may have worn this in a game or two.
