In one of the most watched NBA Finals up until that point, the 1984 NBA Championship featured the iconic Magic Johnson and his Lakers against the legendary Larry Bird and his Boston Celtics. Stretched to an exciting seven games, the Celtics defeated the road team in Game 7 at the Boston Garden by a score of 111-102, giving the Celtics an extremely significant championship victory, and solidifying one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports. Bird would end up being named the Finals MVP after being named the League MVP for the regular season.
This size 11.5, 10k yellow gold salesman sample ring commemorates the first Magic-Bird NBA Finals showdown, as the Celtics topped the Lakers in seven games for the championship. In NM-MT condition, this sample features a CZ in the center of a green shamrock on its top, surrounded by the words, "BOSTON CELTICS WORLD CHAMPIONS." One panel of the ring features the name "BIRD" as well as the word "PRIDE" and a representation of the Larry O'Brien championship trophy, as well as that of a leprechaun. The other panel includes the NBA logo in green, the year - "1984", and the word "TEAMWORK." The inside of the band is marked "LGB" for Balfour and engraved with the factory serial numbers.
