Mike Tyson is considered one of the best Heavyweight Champions from the 1980s – ‘90s era. He holds the record of being the youngest Heavyweight Champion in the world (WBC, WBA, IBF) and was once considered, “The Baddest Man on the Planet.” He has a lifetime record of 50-6. Today he is known for his lovable personality.
Offered is the official Boxing Contract with the Nevada Athletic Commission which encompasses two separate documents that measure 8.5” x 14” for the September 6, 1986 fight in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight was held at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and was a two round TKO over Alfonso Ratlif. In Tyson’s next fight, two months later, he’d win the WBC Heavyweight Championship over Trevor Berbick. Things would never be the same in Mike Tyson’s life.
The first contract is signed by Mike Tyson, his manager Jim Jacobs (D. 1988) Boxing HOFer, and a representative of Dynamic Duo Inc (Don King & Butch Lewis’ company). These are perfect 10 signatures in Black ink. Tyson would be paid $50,000 for this fight ($25,000 less than his opponent).
The second contract is signed by Carl King (Ratliff’s manager and son of Don King), a representative of Dynamic Duo Inc (Don King & Butch Lewis’ company), and Alfonzo Ratliff. Ratliff is best known for winning the WBC cruiserweight title over Carlos De Leon in 1985 and winning the Chicago Golden Gloves title in 1980 over Mitch Green who would be another chapter in Mike Tyson history. Ratliff was 34-9 lifetime. Historic!
