Ron Darling had a 136-116 lifetime pitching record during his Major League career that spanned from 1983-95 for the NY Mets, Expos, and Oakland As. During that span, he was selected to 1 All-Star Game, 1 Gold Glove winning season, and most notably, he was key member of the 1986 World Championship, New York Mets. He went 15-6 that year with a career best 2.81 ERA and was also in contention for the Cy Young award.
Offered is a white pinstripe pullover jersey which features “DARLING” across the back, “METS” across the chest, and the number “12” on both the front and back. All of the lettering has been stitched in blue on orange tackle twill. The inside front tail of the jersey has the Rawlings label size 46 stitched in with two connecting white patches stitched that read, “T” and “12.” A “Set 1 1989” flag tag has been attached to the “12” patch.
There’s strong evidence of game usage and stains on the blue and orange ribbed piping on the left side of the jersey. There are also some stains to the back of the jersey and on the “2” in “12” on the back of the jersey. The Jersey has been signed in blue ink on the front of the jersey, “Ronnie Darling.”
Letter of Authenticity from Richard Albersheim.
