Babe Dahlgren (D. 1996) was a well-traveled ball player who spent time with 9 Major League teams in a career that spanned from 1935-46, but is best known as the man who replaced Lou Gehrig in the Yankees lineup on May 2, 1939; thus effectively ending Gehrig’s streak of 2130 consecutive games.

When his Major League career ended with the St. Louis Browns in 1946, he played another two years in the minors, which included a one season stop with the AAA Baltimore Orioles in 1947.
