Duke Snider (D. 2011) enjoyed perhaps his greatest all-around season in 1954, batting a career-high .341 with 40 home runs and 130 RBI. Although Snider was oftentimes overshadowed by Mantle and Mays, his record during the 1950s cannot be denied. Snider hit forty or more home runs for five consecutive years beginning in 1953 and his total of 326 home runs was the most by any player in the decade. He finished his career with 407 home runs, 1,333 RBI and a .295 lifetime average. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1980.
