Eugene "Goo" Kennedy SIGNED AUTO 1972-73 Dallas Chaparrals ABA Basketball Contract

Eugene "Goo" Kennedy (1949-2020) was a 6'5" forward/center who played professional basketball in the ABA and NBA. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Kennedy starred at Texas Christian University in 1970-71, averaging 20.4 points and 16.6 rebounds while leading TCU to a Southwest Conference championship and earning Conference Player of the Year honors. Drafted by Portland in 1971, he played professionally from 1971-1977 for teams including Dallas Chaparrals, San Antonio Spurs, Spirits of St. Louis, and Houston Rockets. Kennedy averaged 8.2 points and 5.6 rebounds across 333 career games. He was inducted into TCU's Hall of Fame in 2003

Offered is his American Basketball Association (ABA) uniform player contract signed by Kennedy and General Manager for the Chaps, Bob Briner (D. 1999) – was the first Western sports executive to enter China after the Cultural Revolution to introduce NBA games to Chinese television.  He also developed major tennis tournaments to several countries around the world.

Additionally, there is a 2 page contract addendum included signed by Kennedy and dated 8/21/72 and Briner (part of the signature is torn for Briner).

ABA contracts rarely enter the market of any player.
