Celtics rookie, Bill Russell (in his 24th career NBA game) led the Celtics with 22 PTS and 21 Rebounds, Bill Sharman put up 21 pts, Bob Cousy 20 PTS, and Frank Ramsey had 18 points.  Also of note, rookie Tom Heinsohn had 11 points.

Carl Braun was the high scorer for the Knicks with 28 points in this losing effort.  Nat Clifton and Harry Gallatin had 11 points each. Also of note, rookie Richie Guerin had 11 points.
