George Weiss Baseball HOF Signed AUTO Personal Check PSA/DNA NM-MT 8

After buying the Eastern League's New Haven team in 1919 at age 24, George Weiss went on to become one of the game's most successful executives. In 1929, he left for Baltimore of the International League and then earned a job with the Yankees, where he developed a fertile farm system. As the Yankees' general manager from 1947 to 1960, his teams won 10 pennants and seven World Series, including five in a row. He concluded his career as the first president of the Mets, and during his time collected four major league executive of the year awards. Elected to the Baseball HOF in 1971, Weiss died in 1972.

Offered is a fairly uncommon signed personal check that dates from March 10, 1970 made out to Vinoy Park Hotel for $482.11. Signed boldly in blue ballpoint pen.
