Hack Wilson -(D. 1948) was one of the top hitters of his era. While many of the top slugging records have been shattered in recent years, Wilson's incredible accomplishment of 190 RBI in 1930 continues to stand the test of time. He was elected to the Baseball HOF in 1979.
Two years before his death at age 48 (essentially from alcoholism), Hack Wilson was a Baltimore bartender, and when that gig ended he worked briefly for the city's parks-and-rec department. Measuring 6 x 2-3/4", this check features Wilson's autograph in steel tipped pen that he made out to cash for $75 that has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA and graded a 9 out of 10.
