On July 9, 1954, the Dodgers beat the Phillies 7-5 WP Erv Palica (3-1) over Murry Dickson (7-9) in front of 13,586 fans at Ebbets Field. Richie Ashburn was 1 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored. Del Ennis hit a solo Home Run in the 9th inning to keep the game very close.

Campy had a great day at the batter’s box going 2 for 3 with a double and a Home Run (career 171) with 2 runs and 2 RBI’s.
