Lou Gehrig(D. 1941) was a 7x All-Star who hit 493 home runs in his career and won the Triple Crown in 1934. He was named MVP twice in his career and set the record for the most consecutive games played earning him the name, “The Iron Horse.”  Gehrig died at the age of 37 from ALS and was elected to the Baseball HOF in 1939.

Offered is a pencil signature obtained in 1934 that had been mounted on an album page with a newspaper photo of Gehrig. This had been in the original owner’s family until it was recently purchased.
