Lou Mohs 1922-24 NFL Player & FIRST L.A. Lakers G.M. Signed Letter D.1967

Lou Mohs (D. 1967) played 3 seasons in the NFL for the Minneapolis Marines (1922-24) against the likes of players such as Jim Thorpe, Curly Lambeau, Duke Slater, and Slip Madigan. He later went into the newspaper business for the Minneapolis Times. When the Minneapolis Lakers moved to L.A. in the late 1950s, owner Bob Short hired Mohs to become the Los Angeles Lakers first GM (1960-67).  During his tenure, they played in FOUR NBA championship games.

Offered is an 8.5” x 11” typed letter signed to NBA commissioner Walter Kennedy on Los Angeles Lakers letterhead dated May 27, 1966.  He asks for Dennis Hamilton out of Arizona State to be placed on the Lakers supplemental draft list. Hamilton went undrafted and ended up as a rookie in 1967/68 with the Lakers.

Signed in black ballpoint ink by Mohs. Super tough autograph to find!
