Shaun Alexander starred as a running back in the NFL. A standout at Boone County High School, Alexander's talent earned him a scholarship to the University of Alabama, where he set numerous records, including becoming the school's all-time leader in touchdowns and rushing yards at the time. Known for his combination of power, agility, and vision, he entered the 2000 NFL Draft and was selected 19th overall by the Seattle Seahawks.
Alexander's NFL career, primarily with the Seahawks, is highlighted by his dominance during the mid-2000s. In 2005, he won the NFL MVP award after a historic season, rushing for 1,880 yards and scoring a then-record 28 touchdowns. That year, he led Seattle to its first Super Bowl appearance, cementing his place as one of the league's elite players. Over his career, he was a three-time Pro Bowler and twice named first-team All-Pro. Alexander retired with 9,453 rushing yards and 100 rushing touchdowns, placing him among the NFL's all-time greats.
