Buck O’Neil (Deceased) was a first baseman and manager in the Negro American League, mostly with the Kansas City Monarchs. After his playing days, he worked as a scout, and became the first African American coach in Major League Baseball. In his later years he became a popular and renowned speaker and interview subject, helping to renew widespread interest in the Negro leagues, and played a major role in establishing the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri.

Offered is a very rare ONL (Coleman) 50th Anniversary Jackie Robinson baseball (produced in 1997).  Signed on the sweet spot in blue ink, “John J. O’Neil Sr.”

Below his sweet spot autograph, he wrote, “Frederick Douglas” and to the right side panel he wrote, “Martin Luther King Jr., Jackie Robinson, John Kennedy.” On the adjoining panel below the sweet spot, he signed his name, Buck O’Neil.

We’ve never seen anything like this!
