1945 Baltimore Orioles International League Signed Stadium Contract
The Baltimore Orioles were just nine years away from re-joining Major League baseball and were coming off their 1944 International League Championship. We offer an eight page contract between the city of Baltimore and the Orioles for rental of the stadium. The contract has been signed by officials from the city of Baltimore and George W. Reed who was the President of the Baltimore Orioles. He played one minor league season for Newport in 1908. There are an additional seven pages of correspondence (many signed by various city officials). Historic glimpse into the details of minor league baseball post WW II.
1947 Baltimore Orioles International League Signed Stadium Contract – Tommy Thomas
We offer a very historical and interesting contract between the city of Baltimore and the International League’s Baltimore Orioles for rental of Baltimore’s stadium for the 1947 season. This seven page contract has been signed by various Baltimore city officials and Tommy Thomas (with his legal name Alphonse) who was then the VP of the Orioles. Thomas (D. 1988) played in the big leagues from 1926-37 for the Whites, Senators, Phillies, Browns, and Red Sox. He was also the manager of the Orioles from 1940-49. He was a baseball lifer. Cool piece!

We offer a very historical and interesting contract between the city of Baltimore and the International League’s Baltimore Orioles for rental of Baltimore’s stadium for the 1947 season. This ten page contract has been signed by various Baltimore city officials and Baltimore City Mayor Tommy D’Alesandro Jr (D 1987) and father of Nancy Pelosi along with George W. Reed (president of the Orioles). Very cool contract!
