Albersheim's 2014 Summer Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 7/24/2014
This lot of 4 baseball HOFer signed checks includes:
Reggie Jackson, Mr. October, needs no introduction. He just almost single handedly built the Yankees into a dynasty in the late 70’s. We offer a signed
personal check from 1991 made out to the DMV (of California) for $860 for his ’85 Wagoneer. Most likely he was registering his car with the state. Pretty
neat as Jackson is a huge car enthusiast. Cool!
Ed Barrow - This is a Yankees check made out to Mark Roth (D 1944), the Yankees road secretary, and signed by Ed Barrow (D 1953 - HOF). Barrow served as
business manager (de facto general manager) of the New York Yankees from 1921 to 1939 and as team president from 1939 to 1945, and is credited with
building the Yankee dynasty. Barrow was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953.
Harry Hooper (D. 1974), a Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame legend, has signed this personal check made out to the March of Dimes in ballpoint pen.
Nice!!!
Although Lloyd Waner (D 1982) weighed only 150 pounds, he was an all-around player who could hit, field, throw, steal and beat opponents in countless
ways. Little Poison batted .355 in his National League debut while garnering 223 hits, the latter figure establishing a National League rookie record that
wasn't broken until the 21st century. A pesky slap-hitter, Waner was one of the fastest runners of his era in going from home to first. We offer a signed
rare personal check of this Pirates HOFer
Letter of Authenticity from Richard Albersheim.
