Offered is a set that is FRESH to the market and comes from the same collection as the 1955 Bowman, 1957 Topps, and 1958 Topps football sets that have been signed and offered in this auction. An enterprising collector in the San Francisco Bay area obtained all of these autographs in person at Candlestick Park. Unlike many suspect autographed cards that are often found in the market, we feel that with 100% certainty that everything was signed in-person and not done by the stroke of a forger’s hand. If you’re looking for a vintage signed set that was obtained during the player’s career, this is the set for you.

Offered is the set of 120cards. A total of 79 cards have been autographed and encapsulated by PSA/DNA as authentic. The unsigned cards in the set are included with the set. Keep in mind that there were 12 team cards in the set that an autograph collector wouldn’t have bothered to have signed. Gorgeous set with vibrant colors!

Highlights include HOFers:

Norm Van Brocklin (D. 1983), Lou Creekmur, Lou Groza, George Blanda, Emlen Tunnell (D. 1975), Jack Christiansen (D. 1986), Les Richter, Art Donovan, Roosevelt Brown (ROOKIE), Tom Fears, Joe Schmidt, Bill George (D. 1986)(Rookie), Hugh McElhenny, Frank Gifford, Ollie Matson, Lenny Moore (Rookie), Joe Schmidt (Rookie), Leo Nomellini, Y.A. Tittle, Ernie Stautner, Mike McCormack, Joe Perry, Bobby Layne (D. 1986). Super Tough Non-Pro Football HOFers signed cards include:

Jack Carson (D. 2009), George Blanda, Tank Younger, Ed Brown (D. 2007), Joe Campanella (D. 1967 at 36)(KEY CARD), Chuck Bednarik, Kyle Rote, Charley Toogood (D. 1997), Tobin Rote, Billy Wilson (D. 2009), Ken McAfee (D. 2007), Willard Sherman (D. 1997), Ray Renfro (D. 1997), Charley Conerly (D. 1996), Jim Doran (D. 1994), Leon Hart (D. 2002) Heisman winner), John Olszewski (D. 1996), Bill Wightkin (D. 1997), George Shaw (D. 1998), and Lamar McHan (D. 1998). This is only the second signed ’56 Topps football that has ever been offered for public auction and the FIRST vintage signed set to be offered. We estimate the value of this set $5000 - 6500.

Feel free to contact us and we’d be happy to send a detailed spread sheet of all the signed and unsigned cards.
