Tommy John is a former pitcher in Major League Baseball whose 288 career victories rank as the seventh highest total among left-handers in major league history. He is also known for the revolutionary surgery, now named after him, which was performed on a damaged ligament in his pitching arm. He had a lifetime ERA of 3.34, was a 4 time All-Star, and played in 3 World Series for the 1977 and 1978 Dodgers and for the Yankees in the 1981 World Series.
We offer his American League 1989 Yankees contract signed once by John, Bobby Brown, and Bob Quinn. Additional pieces include his release from the Yankees in 1989 on Yankees letterhead signed by Bob Quinn (2 of these), his player transfer (release) official AL document signed by Bob Quinn, and a Western Union telegram sent to Tommy John from the Yankees giving him his release. This is John’s very last Major League contract. Historic!!
Letter of Authenticity from Richard Albersheim.
