Art Pennington was an all-star Negro league baseball player in the 1940s. He played for the Chicago American Giants (1941–1945, 1950), the Birmingham Black Barons (1945), as well as in the Mexican Baseball League (1946–1948), the U.S. minor league system (1949, 1952–1954, 1958–1959), and in Cuban and Venezuelan leagues.
He played in the 1942 and 1950 East-West All-Star Game.
Claro Duany was a Cuban professional ballplayer from 1944-1952. He played in the Negro Leagues (in the states) in 1944 and 1947 for the New York Cubans; a club owned by Baseball Hall of Famer, Alex Pompez.
