We offer a very rare NBA – 1 year team – Chicago Zephyrs 4 page Newsletter Volume #1 – No. 4 that comprises of 4 pages that would grade NR MT condition (there are 2 folds in the newsletter as this was mailed) .
Front page features the Zephyrs upcoming season that would have them playing 34 games at the Coliseum with the Royals to open, then the Lakers, and the Wilt Chamberlain’s Warriors. It prominently features the signing of Purdue All-American Terry Dischinger.
On page 2 - The inside has some great articles and photos. There is a letter from club GM – Frank Lane (of baseball GM fame – Frank Trader Lane). There is an article about Don Nelso out of Iowa and an article about Phil Jordan and Johnny Cox.
Page 3 – covers season ticket sales, a team photo of the squad going off to training camp (which included players that never made the team), and the complete home schedule for 1962-63.
The back cover pictures of Zephyrs players coaching clinics with local Chicago youth.
Try finding another one of these! SUPER RARE!!!! Measures 8.5” x 11” and dated September 1962. This is much rarer than any program ever put out by the Chicago Zephyrs.
